did you see Keane’s goal against Arsenal this weekend? pretty fantastic. he also had a nice setup for Gerrard that was saved. he’s got a ways to go to justify the money involved, but if he plays well the rest of the year and Liverpool takes the title, it will be hard to argue with the move.

Right, I was referring to the fact they tied for the division win and went to a one game playoff, or play-in if you will. Hopefully I cleared that up. Although I wouldn’t write them off, as the baseball playoffs are a crapshoot. No one really knows what might have happened.

As to the Holliday comments, I think Rockies fans will enjoy Carlos González. He seems like a better bet than paying Holliday big bucks for his Coors inflated numbers.

And the Knicks? Getting rid of everyone is a good move! :) Although I agree that LeBron’s not coming. But we’ll have to wait a few years for that one to play out.

Matt and Jawsy, I think that is what he meant. The article says, “but it was the Twins who tied for the division win and headed for a playoff. Maybe they could have used an ace pitcher like Santana against the White Sox?”

That to me indicates the one game playoff against the Sox.

Just an FYI regarding your comments on Santana and the Twins 2008 season. The Twins did not win the AL Central, they did not even make the playoffs. You must remember their 1-game playoff loss against the Chi Sox.

I do agree that Santana would have put them over the top in the AL Central, but they would still not have stood much of a chance against the Angels, Red Sox, or Rays.

I’m calling 2009’s worst transaction as Plaxico Buress. Signs a huge contract, shoots himself out for the rest of the season. Next year, he’ll have even more problems with the Giants and he’ll get released.

I think the Rockies trading Matt Holliday was a HUGE mistake.
